Do you have ideas for how to improve California’s early learning and care system to better meet the needs of all children and families? What would help your family access quality learning and care? What would help providers to better support children and families?

We invite you to share your ideas at one of the seven Regional Engagement sessions listed below.

These engagement sessions are part of California’s Preschool Development Grant Strategic Planning process. The Preschool Development Grant, Birth through Five is a federal grant awarded to California for over $10 million dollars. Federally required activities include: 1) completing a comprehensive needs assessment of the State's current early learning and care system; 2) developing an actionable PDG Strategic Plan; and implementing projects that lay the foundation for systems improvements that will benefit children, parents and providers.

California’s Preschool Development Grant is intended to move the State closer to a mixed delivery early learning and care system that supports children age birth to five, their families and communities to thrive and connects to additional child, family, and program supports.

To successfully articulate this vision and the strategies for achieving it in the PDG Strategic Plan, we are seeking input from community members, parents, and educators.
