2022 ACAP APPLICATION:  SMU OR TCU RESIDENCY PROGRAM

January 3, 2022

Dear High School Student:

ACAP (Accounting Career Awareness Program) is a year-round program which includes a week-long residency for high school students interested in a career in accounting, finance, or any of its related business fields, including IT and Entrepreneurship.  ACAP is designed to develop future business leaders, through a focused and holistic approach with sessions delivered by college faculty, corporate representatives, and NABA guest lecturers in business and government.  During the week, students will have the opportunity to attend classes on careers in accounting, finance and business, personal development, college preparation, and how to succeed in college, along with tours at the host college campuses, local companies, and CPA firms.  The program concludes with the students inviting their parent(s) or guardian(s) to a closing luncheon or banquet in commemoration of their completion of the program at the end of the week.

In summer 2022, interested high school students have the option of applying to one of two locations:

---  Dallas ACAP Week is June 12 - 17, 2022 on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) for high school students of all grade levels.  The Dallas ACAP website: www.dallasacap.com.  The targeted goal is 60 students.

---  TCU ACAP Week is July 10 - 15, 2022 on the campus of Texas Christian University (TCU) for high school students (all grade levels).  The ACAP web page is:  http://www.dallasacap.com/tcu-acap.html.  The targeted goal is 30 students.

Students MAY NOT attend both summer camps.

Note:  Both SMU and TCU intend to host residency camps and will follow school, local, state, and Federal guidelines for health and safety concerns.  Students will be notified as appropriate if residency has to be changed to a virtual status.

Students interested in ACAP should review selected documents prior to completing this application (ACAP presentation, video, timeline, flyer, etc.) that are included on the ACAP website.

Requirements for admission are as follows:

-- Must be a high school student  at time of application (all grade levels)
