Thank you for taking the time to take this short survey.
This study is to compare the auscultation ability of different groups of veterinary surgeons and veterinary students who work or were trained at the RVC. This will be assessed listening to and identifying 12 common heart rhythms/murmurs.
You will also be asked to numerically predict your score out of 12.
You will also be asked if you could rank your performance, compared to your peers.
Recommendations;
We recommend that you take the quiz in a quiet area, preferably with headphones on to hear the heart sound recordings clearly. The quiz can be taken on your phone, landscape mode is recommended.
These are recordings of various heart sounds along with their corresponding phonocardiograms. Choose which option you think best describes the heart sound, please don't worry if you're not sure about the answer.
The quiz is ABSOLUTELY CONFIDENTIAL and there will be no information which could identify a respondent. The information will be used in a study to compare auscultation ability of undergraduates, compared to recent graduates. Vets in the QMHA will be used as a control as will the cardiology service vets.
By completing this quiz you agree that the information collected:
- Will be treated confidentially
- Will be used for a research study and only accessed by research colleagues
- May be written for publication
- May be presented at research conferences or meetings
You can request to see a copy or summary of the completed study and see any information kept during the process of the study. Any further information can be obtained by contacting Deidre Mullowney (dmullowney7@rvc.ac.uk)
Thank you for your time and help with this project
