2022 Distinguished Health Care Advocate Award

The Distinguished Health Care Advocate Award honors individuals, organizations or groups that have demonstrated their commitment through participation in the public domain. KHA members are encouraged to recognize those who work on our behalf from outside our ranks.

The Distinguished Health Care Advocate Award was established by the Kansas Hospital Association Board in 2006. The award recognizes those individuals who provide an exemplary contribution to the health and well-being of Kansans through their leadership in the political or policy arena.

At any level of the public spectrum, these individuals, organizations or groups are unique, and their outstanding commitment to assure the availability of health care and improvement of the environment makes access, quality and affordable health care a reality in Kansas.

Please note - at any time you may close the browser to return later. The software will save your responses. When you return, you will go to the next question to complete the rest of the survey. You will need the nominee's contact information as well as descriptions of how the nominee meets each of the following criteria:

Leadership - takes a proactive role in promoting public policies that address the improvement of health and health care in Kansas.

Commitment - is involved on the community, state or national level as an advocate for health and health care access, quality and affordability.

Partnership - works closely with their local, state and/or national health care communities to forge relationships.

Breadth and Depth of Efforts - promotes an array of policy and initiatives to improve health and health care access, quality and affordability.

Impact - provides effective work in improving health and health care access, quality and affordability.

Nominations are submitted online and are reviewed by a committee of peers in the hospital/health care industry. The committee does not include Kansas hospital executives. The committee may recommend multiple or no awards be given. The committee’s recommendation is presented to the Executive Committee of the KHA Board of Directors for approval.

A corporate photograph of the nominee will be required if he/she is an awardee. If one is available at the time of nomination, it can be emailed to awards@kha-net.org. Photos should be an EPS, JPEG or TIFF file. Color photographs are preferred.
