The 2018 Desert Southwest Annual Conference invites you to participate in the "Visions of a Courageous Church" Ministry Mingle, our “next generation” of the ministry fair . In an effort to foster collaboration and networking in a completely different way during Annual Conference we invite each church, ministry setting, conference, and district ministry to submit a poster that demonstrates how you are called by God to be a courageous church, loving like Jesus, acting for justice, united in hope.

What does this mean my poster should look like?
1)  Each should reflect the very best of what your ministry has to offer our United Methodist Connection in the Desert Southwest Conference.
2)  Each should teach about one ministry or one effort that others can join in with or replicate in their own area, this can be a unique ministry or the very best ministry your group does.
3)  Each should tie us into the bigger story of how "God is calling you to be a courageous church, loving like Jesus, acting for justice, united in hope."

These posters will be on display in the primary meeting space of annual conference Thursday the 14th through Saturday the 16th. At different times during the conference, there will be opportunities to share your vision with others and invite others to share in the courageous calling of these ministries!
 
How big can my poster be? Not larger than 26 inches wide, and 45 inches tall!

Do I need to be present with my poster the entire time of Annual Conference? Someone from your ministry needs to be present with your poster during the 45 minute ministry mingle on Saturday June 16th, please check the Annual Conference Agenda to see when this has been scheduled.

Important dates:
Application for your poster is due: May 30, 2018.

Poster set-up: Wed, June 13th (3:00 to 5:00 PM), or Thurs, June 14th (7:15 to 8:15 AM)

Poster takedown: Saturday, June 16th (4:00 to 5:00 PM)

How many posters can I bring? One poster per church, one poster per conference and district ministry.


Can I hand out flyers or cards? We encourage you to incorporate handouts, flyers, and cards into your poster but nothing will be allowed to be on the floor around your poster and tables will not be provided.

Can I hand out candy or food item? No, due to hotel restrictions outside food is not permitted in the conference meeting space.
