The Town of Windsor, CO is conducting a Solid Waste Study to shape a more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable solid waste management system for its community. As part of this Study, the Town requests that residents participate in the Residential Community survey to help inform decisions about trash, recycling, yard waste, and bulky items for our community. Public involvement is essential to the Study’s success, and your feedback will help establish a clear vision for the solid waste system’s goals, strategies, needs, and priorities.

The Town currently has an open-market system for residents and HOAs to procure individual solid waste and recycling services from private haulers. With an open market system, residents may be concerned about the number of private trash trucks in neighborhoods. Additional concerns may be related to safety, noise, and road damage impact. The Town has recognized the need for more oversight and consistent, equitable, and quality resident services. The Town is considering Town-provided collection service or a single hauler providing services for the whole town, reducing the number of trucks on the road.
