The context for this survey

Oshawa has been a port city since the early 1800s. The Port of Oshawa handles cargo that is essential for everyday life in the Greater Toronto region, including asphalt and structural steel for construction, fertilizer for local farms, salt for roadway safety. It is also an export gateway for locally-grown Ontario grain.

The port is mandated to facilitate trade, create jobs, and support industries in the region that need to move goods.

A new Land Use Plan will help guide future development at the port. HOPA Ports wants to ensure the Port of Oshawa remains an economic driver in Oshawa, and that it grows to meet future needs. HOPA Ports also wants to ensure the port grows sustainably, with environmental protections in place, and in a way that is balanced with other uses of Oshawa’s waterfront.

We want to hear your feedback about what is important when we think about the future of the port. Thank you for responding to this survey.
