Purpose of the Leo-Lion Cultural Exchange Ambassador Scholarship

The purpose of the Leo-Lion Cultural Exchange Ambassador Scholarship is to provide Leo-Lion members with financial support to *attend a constitutional area (CA) Lions forum in a region of the world different from their own. This reimbursement program offers scholarship recipients an opportunity to learn about a culture other than their own and return home to share ideas that will enhance service and leadership practices in their own regions.

Applicant Qualifications

Important: Check your membership record in MyLCI or your local reporting system to confirm that all your information is correct and reflects membership and service eligibility requirements for this scholarship.

Applicants must be Leo-Lion members who have successfully completed a recorded term in one or more of the following roles:

Leo club officer
Leo district president
Leo multiple district president
Lions club officer
district Leo chairperson
multiple district Leo chairperson

Cultural Exchange Ambassadors must be capable of understanding at least one of the host languages spoken at the regional forum.

Expectations

Leo-Lion Cultural Exchange Ambassador Scholarship recipients are expected to fulfill all the expectations of the scholarship program.

Selection Status

Upon submission of this scholarship application, senders will receive an automatic reply that serves as a receipt of the application.

All Leo-Lion Cultural Exchange Ambassador Scholarship applicants will be notified of selection status via the email address provided on the application form.

Although Lions forums may proceed, new COVID-19-related travel rules and restrictions continue to be developed to ensure safe travel and socialization. This may include closing borders to travelers in and out of certain countries and regions, or canceling events. Applicants should check with their country’s travel authority frequently for updates.

Upon receiving confirmation from a CA Lions forum planning committee that their in-person forum has been canceled, Lions Clubs International will notify the selected Leo-Lion cultural ambassador assigned to that CA forum.

This scholarship opportunity does not apply to virtual forums.

This application does not guarantee participation or funding to attend any CA forum.
