Westmorland and Furness Council has demonstrated its commitment to the Armed Forces community by signing the National Armed Forces Covenant in 2023. The covenant ensures that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly and not disadvantaged by their military service. The council has an established Armed Forces Board, chaired by Linda Jones (Chief Legal and Monitoring Officer) to deliver on this commitment.
It is important to understand the health and wellbeing of local veterans, and how this is influenced by social, economic and environmental factors. To better understand these challenges and to help shape future priorities, the Westmorland and Furness Armed Forces Board, with support from Public Health are in the process of developing a Veterans' Health Needs Assessment.
This Veteran Health Needs Assessment – Insight Survey is designed to collect anonymised data from a range of organisations about if and how they support veterans and their families living within the Westmorland and Furness area.
Please do not provide personal identifiable data in response to this survey – this includes any information or documents that may directly identify a veteran and/or their family.
We would be grateful if you could respond to the Veteran Health Needs Assessment - Insight Survey by no later than 12th June 2025.
