Before completing the survey, please read the information below and provide consent to participate.

Throughout 2022 and 2023 LELAN is implementing the Alternatives to Suicide (Alt2Su) approach in South Australia. To support this, LELAN has commissioned an evaluation of Alt2Su to understand:

  • How well has Alt2Su been implemented?
  • What difference has it made to people attending Alt2Su groups, and the service system?
  • How can implementation be improved to improve outcomes for participants?
The evaluation will explore how community-based lived experience-led initiatives work and can be scaled. Five to seven ‘pilot’ groups targeting different population groups will be part of the formal evaluation and will be the first groups to form.

To do the evaluation, LELAN is working with independent evaluators - Flick Grey, Jo Farmer and Sar Bostock.

For more information on the evaluation and evaluation team, see https://www.lelan.org.au/alt2su/eval. Alt2Su is funded by Wellbeing SA, Country SA PHN, Adelaide PHN and LELAN.

This survey asks you about your experiences of attending an Alt2Su group. We encourage you to complete this survey every time you attend an Alt2Su group. It will only take 3 minutes to complete.

We will ask you to indicate which group you attended and on which date. We will not use this information to identify you - it helps us to understand differences between groups and if the experience of attending Alt2Su has changed over time. You can opt not to tell us if you prefer.

How your information will be used and stored
  • The information you provide is anonymous - we do not know your name or identifying details.
  • Your data will be collected and stored by Jo Farmer (on behalf of the evaluation team). Your personal responses will not be shared with LELAN or any attendees of Alt2Su groups.
  • Your responses will be used to answer the evaluation questions above in reports for LELAN.
  • Your data will be stored on secure, password-protected servers for five years (in accordance with the law).
  • Your participation is voluntary. If you do not want to finish the survey, close the browser before you reach the end of the survey.
