Thank you for your interest in the RN program! Your admission is based primarily on your academic history at ECC, so please be sure to enter your correct ID so that your history can be accurately retrieved. Please refer to the Requirements for Admission to the RN Program Fact Sheet, which is available on the college's website under Nursing Department.
Transcripts must be sent directly from your previous institution to Enrollment Services, Essex County College, Newark, NJ 07102 and must arrive by March 1, 2021.
NOTE: Transfer students must be enrolled and taking classes at Essex County College in the year prior to admission. A mandatory minimum of 9 credits must have been completed at ECC to be eligible for admission into the RN program.
You must complete four prerequisites:
BIO 121 (Anatomy & Physiology I),
ENG 101 (English Composition I),
PSY 101 (General Psychology) and
CHM 101 (College Chemistry I) or CHM 103 (General Chemistry I).
A grade of “C” or better, and an overall GPA of 2.5 must be obtained in the prerequisite courses. BIO 121 must be completed within 5 years of application to be accepted.
Prerequisite courses must be completed by December 31, 2020.
NOTE: An overall GPA of at least 2.5 is required for admission.
