Summer Research Experience Application

Hello and thank you for applying to the Undergraduate Pipeline Network. We will contact you with a decision about participating in the program by the end of April. If have any questions before then, please feel free to contact UPN-L@unm.edu

Program Dates: Starting May 30, 2018 through August 3, 2018.

Participants must attend UPN Orientation on May 30 and May 31, 2018.

DEADLINE for UPN 2018 is Midnight, February 1, 2018

Any incomplete application submitted after the deadline will not be reviewed or considered. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to complete all sections of the application before the deadline. A complete application requires the following documents to be turned in to the UPN program.

♦ A complete online application

♦ One letter of recommendation -- Submit your referee's information within this application.
Please ensure that you have already asked your referee for a letter of recommendation. Once you enter your referee's information, the program will contact him/her to submit a letter and evaluation.

♦ An unofficial copy of ALL of your transcripts

♦ A copy of your current academic resume or CV

Before you begin, it would be helpful to have your personal statement ready to submit within the application. Your personal statement should include:

1. Your career goals
2. Reasons for wanting to engage in summer research
3. How the UPN program fits into your career plan

Please send your unofficial transcripts and your current CV to UPN-L@unm.edu You may submit them via email, fax or regular mail.

This online application gives you the flexibility to complete your application all at once or to work on it a little at a time on the same computer. If you wish to work on only one portion of the application at a time, or come back and edit your answers at a later time, you may do so by clicking the "Exit this survey" link in the upper right corner of the page. You must use the same computer and have cookies enabled to access this feature. Please note, this feature may not be available on some public computers. DO NOT click the "Done" button until you are satisfied that you have answered all the questions. Once you have clicked the "Done" button, your application will be submitted as is and you will not be able to make changes.
