The Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP) Conference Planning Committee invites the submission of abstracts to be presented at the 54th AAIP Annual Meeting and National Health Conference, September 17-20, 2026, at OKANA Resort & Water Park, Oklahoma City, OK. Over the years, sessions have included case presentation discussions, interactive, hands-on skill-building workshops, and traditional lectures. AAIP encourages innovative educational programming that promotes clinical application of best practices to support and strengthen health outcomes for AI/AN people and communities. This year's theme: "Honoring Our Founders Inspiring the Next Generation"

Abstracts should be relevant to the overall conference objectives:
  • Integrate methods to improve knowledge, awareness, and proficiency of health professionals providing care to indigenous patients, including caregiver education and approaches that promote strength and resilience among indigenous youth, families, and traditional healers
  • Apply tribal, community, and academic partnership strategies to increase screening rates for STIs, HIV, cancer, and cardiovascular disease while addressing challenges and leveraging strengths to improve health outcomes.
  • Examine the prevalence and impact of key health issues in Indian Country, including mental health conditions, opioid use disorder, autoimmune diseases, injury prevention, hypertension, nutrition, obesity and other priority health concerns.
  • Evaluate the development of health policies and programs designed to reduce and eliminate health disparities in Native communities and support long-term health equity.
  • Develop networking and mentoring opportunities for Native students and physicians to support career decision-making and strengthen the future American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/A) physician workforce.
