Kia ora waka ama whānau
Waka Ama NZ has established a working group (Te Rōpū Whaikaha o Ngā Kaihoe o Aotearoa) whose purpose is to provide an opportunity for kaihoe whaikaha including para-paddlers and people with disabilities to voice their own experiences and perspectives on waka ama in Aotearoa, and to advocate on behalf of our kaihoe whaikaha whānau. Currently, the group is concentrating on supporting paddlers with physical and visual impairments, with intentions to include tangata whaikaha with intellectual disabilities in future initiatives as well.

The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback and insights from our current kaihoe whaikaha whānau, this will be valuable in helping us achieve our goals. We have created another survey for clubs to gather insights on the level of club accessibility, clubs' knowledge regarding tangata whaikaha and the inclusion into waka ama.
We would appreciate your time in completing the below survey, if you have any pātai please get in touch with WANZ General Manager - Amiria Mita-Marshall at amiria@wakaama.co.nz
