Team Launch Overview
TEAM LAUNCH provides innovative, interdisciplinary learning opportunities that will prepare students for careers in team-based science and healthcare. By developing and implementing the skills necessary to create, participate in, and lead interdisciplinary teams that solve complex problems, TEAM LAUNCH will prepare students to advance and succeed across a broad spectrum of career paths open to graduates with advanced degrees in healthcare and biomedical sciences. Through three interrelated program components, TEAM LAUNCH delivers teamwork training to our students, trainees, staff, and faculty.

  • Launch Pad uses problem-based, experiential learning, guided by faculty mentors, to build teamwork awareness and skills. Beginning in AY 2019, it will be required coursework for trainees across all the degree programs.
  • Team Projects will enable students to implement, hone and extend their new skills as part of a team working on authentic projects in various specialty areas, commercialization, healthcare quality and patient safety, or global health, culminating in a judged Capstone event.
  • Team Discovery provides both a series of workshops and at-request training sessions that focus on specific teamwork skill topics. These sessions are interactive and open to all members of Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliates.
