MFL Teacher Shortfall Funding enables MFL Teachers who have a shortfall in Teaching Council registration criteria for a foreign language on the post-primary curriculum to receive funding for 15 credits for modules which will result in the teacher achieving Teaching Council registration in the foreign language.
Criteria for Applicants:
The teacher has a degree or existing credits in the target language but is short of modules which enable the teacher to register with the Teaching Council in the foreign language.
The teacher will access modules which will result in Teaching Council registration in the foreign language. The modules must be provided by a Higher Education Institute (HEI) in the Republic of Ireland.
The teacher will source and access the modules themselves. The modules can be of any amount, but only 15 credits will be reimbursed. The reimbursement is based on the HEI fees. The teacher will be reimbursed upon the Teaching Council registration.
The teacher is not in receipt of any other funding for same.
The teacher will agree to provide a PPLI feedback report.
For more details please see MFL Teacher Shortfall Funding Guidelines. For any queries contact PPLI.
Applications for funding can be made at any time and will be processed on an on-going basis.
