Teach Access Europe - Accessibility Education Consultation |
Introduction
Teach Access Europe is working to strengthen the teaching of accessibility across Europe by bringing together educators, industry, and other stakeholders to better understand current practices, identify gaps and needs, and support the integration of accessibility knowledge and skills into education. As part of this work, we want to learn directly from educators about how accessibility is currently being taught, what challenges they experience, and what would help them teach accessibility more effectively.
Teach Access Europe defines digital accessibility as designing websites, mobile and desktop applications, digital documents (such as PDFs), multimedia (including instructional videos, audio recordings, and podcasts), and electronic interfaces so that everyone, including people with disabilities, can use them.
Accessibility skills exist along a spectrum. While some roles require deep, specialist expertise, all roles involved in digital products, services, or content benefit from a foundational understanding of digital accessibility and disability inclusion.
