Program Description

Duties: Museum Ambassador Teen Advisors will learn about current programs for teens, generate ideas programs, recruit participants to attend programs, and promote museum access and enjoyment among our city’s diverse teen audience. Museum Ambassador Teen Advisors will work with our team of Teaching Artists, staff, and interns to build their skills. Teamwork, communication and collaboration are necessary skills for this role.

Selection of Museum Ambassadors: This position is for students currently enrolled at a high school in San Francisco. Applicants must be willing to participate in group discussions, share ideas, work as part of a team, and promote the event on personal social media accounts. Museum Ambassador Teen Advisors will be selected on the basis of their enthusiasm, their willingness to learn about art, and work with the public. No background in art is necessary. Please note if you speak any additional languages.

Hours and Location: Wednesday afternoons at the de Young Museum from 4:30-6:30, November 8, 2017 through March 21, 2018. Museum Ambassador Teen Advisors are paid $14/hour. There is no vacation time allowed. Please do not schedule any appointments during your work hours.


The Teen Advisory Board will meet on Wednesdays at the de Young Museum from 4:30-6:30pm starting on November 8th, 2017 and end March 21st, 2018. Interviews will be held at the de Young in late-October. Applications close on October 18, 2017
