2017-2018 Ambassador Program

Purpose:
The Ambassador Program represents SMPS Central Florida’s commitment to aiding our AEC marketers in their personal growth and professional development.

Statistics show that Chapters are more likely to lose new members in their first three years of becoming a member due to a sense of belonging and lack of engagement. SMPS Central Florida Chapter Ambassadors will assist the Membership Committee by quickly engaging new members by encouraging them to attend events and other activities regularly, and to get involved with the Chapter. The ambassadors will also introduce the new members to other chapter members and identify ways for them to become involved in the Chapter.

Ambassador eligibility:
Current member of SMPS Central Florida with a minimum of five years of experience in the AEC, and a minimum of three years as a member of SMPS. All participants are expected to comply with the SMPS Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities:
1. Must be willing and able to commit to a two-month assignment with a new member assigned by the membership committee
2. Must be willing to attend all monthly programs, events, and activities within that two-month timeframe.
3. Once assigned a new member, you must contact them within one week to officially welcome them to the Chapter, and start to build the relationship.
4. Encourage the new member to attend monthly programs, events, and activities with you. Meet them before the program and walk in together.
5. Connect them with members who you feel they would most likely connect with and would benefit meeting them the most.
