Swansea Mixed-Use Zoning Update Survey Thank you for participating in our survey to help us shape Swansea's Mixed-Use Overlay Zoning. We are hoping to create Mixed-Use Overlay Zoning in order to encourage additional types of buildings in the town of Swansea. Overlay zoning does not eliminate the current existing zoning, but rather enhances allowable uses to create more diverse housing and commercial building options. Mixed-use is a development that combines residential, commercial, and sometimes industrial uses within a single building or a shared development area. This can include a building with apartments on upper floors and shops or offices on the ground floor, or a larger project that integrates housing, retail, and public spaces. In Swansea, this updated overlay zoning applies to specific areas along Route 6 Wilbur Ave. On Main Street, this survey explores the idea of allowing accessory commercial development, such as a neighborhood general store or a doctor's office addition to a home. Your input will help us to understand what types of buildings and uses residents would like to see in each area. For more information, please visit the Swansea Mixed-Use Zoning website. Please note that every question on this survey is optional; however, we encourage you to answer as many questions as you can.
