2024-2025 Application: Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the 2024-2025 Georgia Women's Policy Institute experience!

The Georgia Women’s Policy Institute (GWPI) is YWCA of Greater Atlanta’s signature leadership, advocacy, and civic engagement training program, where women from diverse backgrounds learn how to develop and support state-level policy proposals. GWPI fellows work together to choose policy projects that are focused on legislation that would improve the lives of women and their families, including these issue areas- health and safety, economic empowerment, racial justice, and reproductive justice.

2024 marks the 13th year of the Georgia Women's Policy Institute and the 4th cohort of GWPI at Spelman College.

The application process for our 2024-25 GWPI Spelman Cohort includes two main components: the student application and the Recommender’s Form.

The recommender’s form is meant to take the place of a traditional letter of recommendation, and it is also due by April 1st. It includes a combination of mostly multiple-choice questions and a few short response questions. Only one submitted recommender’s form is required for an application to be considered complete, and it should take no more than 20 minutes for the recommender to fill it out.

More information about the recommender’s form and how to access it can be found here (we highly recommend that you share the additional information with your recommender).

The application is due on Monday, April 1st by midnight.

If you have any questions about the application, please reach out to Advocacy Program Manager, Elle Knott at elle.knott@ywcaatlanta.org.

We look forward to reading your application!
