Dear Residents,

Thank you for taking the time to review and respond to this survey.  The contract with the current vendor operating our Town transfer station will expire at the end of this year. This survey is part of the process to guide the town in its decision on how we should manage our waste going forward.

The cost estimates you see in this survey are our best approximations based on a review of other Rhode Island cities and towns, data from Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation, and responses to prior waste management requests for proposals received by the town.

Our goal is to make a decision regarding waste management that best balances cost and convenience for our residents and is something we can execute by January 1, 2018.  The options presented here are our best-informed ideas.  There may be better ideas out there and if there are, we want to hear them.  Everything is on the table.
