Sapulpa BTW Community Center Needs Assessment - 2025 |
Survey Overview and Demographics
On January 14, 2020, Sapulpa voters approved a GO Bond to construct a replacement for the current, aging Booker T. Washington Recreation Center structure at 209 North Gray Street. City of Sapulpa staff and City Councilors have been working diligently with an architecture firm for over a year to design a new building that will honor the past of the former Booker T. Washington School while looking to the future of the new Booker T. Washington Community Center, which will welcome and serve all Sapulpans.
When complete, the new Booker T. Washington Community Center will serve as a single, centralized home for all Sapulpa Parks & Recreation indoor programming, combining what is currently offered at the Sapulpa Senior Community Center and the current Recreation Center. There will be meeting rooms, a game room, an event space, and a full-size gym with fitness equipment, an indoor walking track, and equipment for basketball, pickleball, and volleyball - as well as office space for Sapulpa Park employees. With all this new space, we want to hear how you look forward to using it!
By completing this 5-10 minute survey, you can help us set priorities for the new BTW Community Center. Responses will save as you move through the survey. Please be assured that your responses will remain anonymous. This survey is secure and HIPAA compliant.
After completing the survey, you will be provided a chance to enter a drawing. For each 100 surveys completed, one name will be drawn at random to receive a 2025 Aquatic Center Family of 4 Season Pass -OR- $75 Gift Certificate to Braum's -OR- Round of Golf (including cart fee) for 4 at Rock Creek Golf Course on Historic Route 66.
Your participation is very much appreciated and is essential to the future of our growing community.
If you have questions while taking the survey, please contact Susan Bencke, Sapulpa Parks' Recreation Director, at sbencke@sapulpaok.gov.
