DISTRICT 12 (SANTA ANA) CURRENT POSITIONS

Question Title

Transportation Engineer (Civil)
Pay scale: $5,849.00 - $10,956.00

(STEP 1) MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS: Either I Graduation from a four-year curriculum in civil engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology. (Registration as a senior in such a curriculum will admit an applicant to the competition, but she/he must produce evidence of graduation before she/he will be considered eligible for appointment.) (Possession of a valid certificate as an Engineer-in- Training issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, or issued by another jurisdiction and accepted by the California Board in lieu of the first division of the examination as an engineer may be substituted for the required education.) Or II Possession of equivalent qualifications may be demonstrated by graduation from an engineering curriculum which includes the basic engineering courses normally covered in a standard four-year engineering curriculum, and by qualifying in a written examination covering basic engineering. (Registration as a senior in such a curriculum will admit an applicant to the qualifying examination, but she/he must produce evidence of graduation before she/he will be considered eligible for appointment.) Or III A master's or doctorate degree in a civil engineering curriculum from a college or university that has a baccalaureate degree program in a civil engineering curriculum which is accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering Technology (ABET). (Registration as a candidate in such a curriculum will admit an applicant to the competition but she/he must produce evidence of graduation before she/he will be considered eligible for appointment.)

Question Title

Caltrans Highway Maintenance Leadworker
Pay scale: $4,674.00 - $5,879.00

(STEP 1) MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Caltrans Highway Maintenance Worker, Caltrans Landscape Maintenance Worker, Caltrans Equipment Operator I, or Caltrans Equipment Operator II, or any combination of experience in these four classifications which results in three years' experience.

Caltrans Electrician I
Pay scale: $5,241.00 - $6,039.00

(STEP 1) MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS: Either I two years in the California state service performing the duties of a Caltrans Electrical Technician Or II Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an electrician. (Apprentices who are within six months of completion of their apprenticeship may be admitted to the examination, but they must present evidence of completion of the apprenticeship prior to appointment.) Or III four years of successful and varied experience in the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical equipment and electronic control devices. An Associate of Arts or Certificate of Arts Degree in Electrical Technology may be substituted for two years of the required experience. (Students who are within six months of completing their degree will be admitted to the examination, but must present evidence of completion prior to appointment.)
