The Conservation Alliance for Seafood Solutions is hosting its Annual Conference on October 24-26, 2023 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We are excited to offer a limited number of scholarships to subsidize the registration and/or travel costs for Alliance Annual Conference attendees from organization's with limited funding or who are from a historically underrepresented group within the responsible seafood movement. The Alliance strives to create equitable conference access for all.

MEETING INFO: The Annual Conference will will bring together leaders and international experts from across the responsible seafood movement.  All sessions will be hosted in English and held on Tuesday, October 24 from 9am-4pm, Wednesday, October 25 from 9am-2pm and Thursday from 9am-12pm.

SCHOLARSHIP: The Alliance is offering two different types of scholarships:
  • Registration Scholarship: We will award four (4) recipients complimentary passes to attend the three day meeting. ($650 value)
  • Travel Scholarship: We will award two (2) recipients support to travel to/from Puerto Rico and attend the conference free of charge (travel support is limited to $2,000/person)
  • Scholarships are awarded to individual attendees and are non-transferable
ELIGIBILITY: Meeting attendees from organizations with limited funding or from a historically underrepresented group or sector within the movement are eligible for the scholarship. People of color, people with disabilities and people who identify on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, as well as fishers or individuals who engage with workers or worker rights' groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

APPLICATION: To apply for a scholarship, please complete the form below by August 15. Award recipients will be notified by August 21, 2023.

Scholarships will be awarded to those applicants who represent the highest combination of the following:
  • historically underrepresented population at the conference (stakeholder type, personal experience, geographic location, etc)
  • aligned work relevance to the conference sessions/theme
  • financial need
All information obtained from this form will remain confidential to the Alliance staff and will be aggregated and anonymized if reported on externally.
