Overview

Application deadline is December 1.

The Daniel Morton and Laura Dill Morton Scholarship was established in 2016 and revised in 2025 to provide two annual awards to outstanding students or trainees. The first award recognizes commitment to toxicologic pathology, while the second award honors dedication to public health and/or epidemiology. Students with a DVM or equivalent degree enrolled full-time in a graduate or residency program who demonstrate interest in toxicologic pathology and strong potential for a successful career are encouraged to apply. Applicants must submit a personal statement describing current research, professional goals, and activities related to toxicologic pathology and/or public health/epidemiology, two professional letters of recommendation (including one from their academic advisor), and a Curriculum Vitae.

Applicants will be evaluated based on their demonstrated interest and potential in toxicologic pathology, and in public health and/or epidemiology, letters of recommendations, and CV. A $7,500 monetary award and engraved plaque will be presented at the Awards Ceremony during the STP Annual Symposium. Award acknowledgement will be included on the STP website and in the annual meeting issue of Toxicologic Pathology.

Applicants should complete the application form, personal statement, letters of recommendation and Curriculum Vitae. The deadline for submission is December 1 by 5:00 pm ET to be considered for the current annual award cycle.

Note: Applicants may indicate both Morton Scholarship categories if applicable, but each recipient will be eligible to receive only one award.
