STEM Conference 2018 Request for Proposals

Once of again with the support of the Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative, Northern Kentucky University and the University of Cincinnati have joined together to sponsor STEM Conference 2018. At this year's conference, the theme is:
Core Elements of STEM Instruction:
    C – Classroom Pedagogies
        O –Opportunities for Networking
R – Resources for the Classroom
                E – Engagement of Students
Our objective is to feature effective STEM models and initiatives that will inform and inspire the STEM educators of tomorrow.  This year, the conference will take place solely at NKU during the day on Thursday, September 20th, 2018.  As presenters, your role will be to model to the attendees your best practices and offer strategies that they can take back and use in their own classrooms. These could be lessons, projects, and/or programs. We seek to attract and promote the best in STEM Education in our Greater Cincinnati area.  Please consider submitting a proposal to present at STEM Conference 2018.  See below for more details.

Registration: Please note that you will also be required to register for the conference once the registration site opens on April 16th. All presenters, including all co-presenters, must register in one of the following ways:

STEM Initiative Models Presentations: Can you provide examples of exemplary STEM Initiatives that might work as models for other school districts, locals schools or classrooms?  Perhaps your district has partnered with an organization  to create a unique opportunity for mentoring or guidance on STEM Curriculum, STEM related clubs, or STEM careers. Or you have a program tailored for a specific grade level or school or teacher training. All of these types of models would apply. We want to hear from you!  Please submit a proposal that describes your experience planning and implementing this STEM Initiative Model.

Interactive Workshops – These are sessions that could involve challenge based learning, engineering design, math/science cross curricular collaborations, ELA/Science integration, 21st Century learning skills, and/or career exploration etc. and require a hands on component and active participation from the attendees. Interactive Workshops are scheduled for a 75 minute time period and must be based on lessons that have already been implemented with students. Some sessions may be repeated.

Interactive Workshops with extended sessions - These are Interactive Workshops with the potential to extend into 1 or 2 sessions offered later into the fall.
