In 2019, a study was launched to explore the feasibility of a South Shore Line station in New Carlisle. The study concluded that a station in New Carlisle was feasible and would generate sufficient ridership. An update to the study was initiated in 2024 to re-evaluate the selected station site and account for regional growth, South Shore Line changes, and new ridership trends.

A public meeting to discuss the feasibility study and proposed stations was held in New Carlisle on January 29, 2025. Materials from that meeting, including a fact sheet and the presentation are available on the South Shore Line website.

The following short survey will help the study team decide if a new station could be beneficial to New Carlisle’s transportation network.
