Background

About us: Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS) is an independent charity that has championed the voluntary sector and volunteering across North Somerset for over 25 years.

We represent, develop and empower the voluntary community, faith and social enterprise sector in North Somerset to be at the forefront of positive social change, development, building capacity and sustainability.

We have annual surveys to see how the sector has been in the previous year, what changes and challenges have been faced and looking forward to 2024. Your valuable input will help us to represent you strategically.

Welcome to the North Somerset Voluntary, Community, Faith & Social Enterprises (VCFSE) Shape of the Sector Survey 2023.

Why fill in the survey?...

As a VCFSE group/organisation, we can better understand your needs and allow you to use the survey results in your funding bids. We can champion the key things that are important to you and the wider sector.

*
Highlight the value and significance of the VCFSE sector through the publication of robust, evidence-based information.

*
Inform commissioners and funders, influencing strategic discussions and policy.

*
Improve service delivery, especially the support available for smaller and developing community groups.

*
Identify gaps in provision and enable sector leaders to design and implement a solution-based strategy.

Before being published, all responses will be anonymised, analysed and evaluated as a collective. Responses will be shared in report format and made accessible to respondents. VANS may, however, contact you to clarify key points.

Please note: - You can return to the survey if you can't finish it in one sitting (click 'next'; otherwise, you will lose your previous answers). If you would like help completing the survey, you can contact one of the team for assistance.

The more in-depth the information provided and the greater the number of responses, the more valuable it will be in producing and sharing the final report supporting the sector's voice in what we know as challenging times.

Upon completing the survey, you will be asked if you would like to be entered into a draw with the chance of winning a voucher to the value of £100. The winner will be drawn randomly and announced once the survey has closed.

Please take some time to complete the survey; it should take around 20 minutes.

Closing date: Friday 8th March 2024

20% of survey complete.
