Award Presentation
Awards are typically presented during an Awards Gala held in conjunction with the SSC AGM & Congress. Given the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, SSC made the decision to cancel the Congress and Awards Gala scheduled for June 2020 in Ottawa. As a result, we had to find an alternative way to present awards to the winning recipients that maintained the same level of prestige and recognition of their accomplishments.

For 2019-2020, the awards winners will be announced virtually this summer and the awards will be presented in-person to recipients during ceremonies at the ISU World Cup Short Track in Montreal (November 6-8) and ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Calgary (December 11-13).

For select awards recipients, as indicated in this document, SSC will cover travel and accommodations costs to attend the World Cup closest to the city where they reside. This includes transportation to and from either Montreal or Calgary, along with a hotel room for one night. SSC will also provide a set number of VIP tickets to the event. Additional details on what each winner receives can be found in the award descriptions below.
