Safe Routes to School - Beyond BTSD & WTSD

If your school is seeking mini-grant / sponsorship funds for an ongoing Safe Routes to School program, you must complete this form. Please read the following carefully:

Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is an international movement to enable and encourage K-12 students to walk and bicycle to school. The program is spearheaded locally by SLO Regional Rideshare, a division of the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG), and works to increase mobility choices and awareness throughout our county.

The funding source for this program is state, Cycle 3 Caltrans Active Transportation Non-Infrastructure. Cycle 3 funding eligibility is drastically different than Cycle 2, reducing/defining the types of incentives and what grade levels are eligible. We appreciate our schools that choose to go above and beyond Walk and Bike to School Days. In the past, Caltrans has further restricted and defined incentives throughout the cycle, which meant that some previously eligible expenses became ineligible before a school event took place. In an effort to keep all program costs eligible and reduce confusion, we are restructuring the program to provide in-kind incentives and snacks (and much more as eligible) that will be reimbursed by state funds.

Please complete this form to help us understand how this new model can support your efforts. For more information on this form or program, contact Peter Williamson, SLOCOG Staff: (805) 597-8022 or Info@Rideshare.org.
