Adjunct faculty are defined as those who work in a part-time capacity for the College in an instructional, cooperative education coordinator, clinical coordinator, advising, or other faculty role.  Many of our adjuncts have lasting impacts on the lives of our students that go beyond the typical definition of the role of adjunct.  In the Summer of 2020, the Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award was developed to provide recognition and give appreciation to those in these adjunct roles who encompass the highest of character and dedication in their work and are true examples of excellence with in the profession.

Each year adjunct faculty members from any academic division are chosen to receive the award, using a process involving nomination and comprehensive review.  The selected adjunct faculty join an elite group of faculty who serve as role models for faculty excellence at Cincinnati State.

Adjuncts are nominated by members of the Cincinnati State community comprised of faculty, administration, staff, and students.  Nominations are forwarded to the Faculty Excellence Committee for review by academic administrators (i.e. deans), program chairs, and department chairs within their division.  Each year the Faculty Excellence Committee will identify up to 5 adjuncts to be recognized for their contributions to our students, our faculty body, and the College.  The recipients will be recognized by Cincinnati State and the faculty body during the Annual Award Ceremony in April.
