School Health Outreach Project - Community-Based Organization Application
Are you a school nurse in a public school district? Do you supervise healthcare providers? Are you an organization that works with school districts? If so, you may be interested in receiving funding for a training provided by the American College of Rheumatology (ACR)! Stipends of up to $4,000 will be awarded to community-based organizations who successfully train at least 20 school healthcare providers, in at least one school district.
Planning and implementation are expected to take approximately 6 hours, including a 60 – 90 minute educational session facilitated by a pediatric rheumatologist.
The ACR School Health Outreach Project (SHOP) connects K-12 public school districts with pediatric rheumatologists who facilitate the educational session for the district’s school healthcare providers. The goal of this program is to educate school healthcare providers, particularly school nurses, on the signs and symptoms of lupus, and how to support students and their families in the transition from pediatric to adult lupus care.
The educational session for providers must take place prior to September 2023. If you believe your organization might be a good fit, apply today!
The application period is open now and will close at 11:59pm on November 30, 2022. The application should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
