The Global Compact Network Canada (GCNC) is spearheading the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact in Canada.

The GCNC has played and continues to play a crucial role in catalyzing action toward advancing the SDGs in Canada and abroad. As we head into the third year of the SDG implementation, we have seen tremendous action being initiated by the Canadian Private Sector to leave no one behind.

Since 2015, the GCNC has conducted SDG Surveys in an attempt to understand how Canadian organizations perceive, promote and work towards achieving the SDGs. This yearly survey is helpful to further understand the changing landscape of sustainability in Canada, current SDGs priorities, and where further action is required.

Purpose of the SDG Survey 2018
• To understand the potential changes in the prioritization of the SDGs - since the 2016 and 2017 SDGs Surveys
• Understand how Canadian businesses are implementing initiatives to embed the SDGs into their operations
• Identify gaps in SDG implementation in the Canadian Private Sector
• Gather industry- and sector-specific data to understand actions towards sustainable development
• Understand the changing priorities re: the SDGs in Corporate Canada and the action being taken to advance the SDGs
