Important Information

Thank you for your application to Young Adult Cancer Canada’s (YACC) upcoming face-to-face event! When you applied for this event you indicated that you would need some financial assistance to help you attend. YACC never wants finances to be the only reason an individual does not attend one of our face-to-face events, however, our financial assistance budget is not unlimited. We try our best to help every individual that needs help, however the amount of assistance is based on a demonstrated financial need and a financial assessment is required*.

Important Information:

o   The financial assistance program was established to ensure individuals interested in YACC’s face-to-face programs were not excluded solely due to travel costs.

o   The financial assistance program is especially beneficial to individuals currently living in a low-income household – including those on unemployment, disability, no income/low income, etc. The income support could apply to the program participant or another partner living within the home (for example, the program participant could be working full-time, but their partner could be on EI or disability, etc).

o   It must be kept in mind that the financial assistance program at YACC is not a ‘wish-granting’ program. Its funds cannot be used to fund trips or experiences that are out of the scope of the event.

o   All information you provide on this form will remain confidential among necessary staff and will be destroyed after the event.

o   By submitting your application to YACC staff you are declaring that all of the information your provided is accurate and true, best to your knowledge. You also agree that you understand that all applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and final determination will be made by YACC.

*We know finances are a real issue for young adults dealing with cancer and this is why we want to help. Please trust that no judgement will be passed based on the information you share on this form
