CTE...Connecting Education to Careers

Summer Conference 2019 will focus on the ongoing high quality CTE initiatives that applies best practices, innovation, integration, and implementation of career connected learning through CTE.

Purpose: An interactive conference to engage individual educators, schools, and community members to implement quality CTE programs for student success with breakout sessions of today’s best practices supporting graduation success for students by using equivalency crediting, CTE Dual Credit, industry connections, credentials obtainment through quality curriculum and assessment.

Target Attendees:  Every educator who is responsible in delivering CTE, STEM, and Arts to their students and any staff who need STEM Clock Hours (K-12).

Objectives: The intent of this conference format is for attendees to take what is learned back to their programs in every course and grade level in a meaningful way. We are asking for all presenters to provide in a “MAKE and TAKE” format for attendees to put their learning into action.
 
Goals:
  • Provide professional development around high-quality CTE standards and help CTE educators and administrators develop and improve the quality of their CTE programs of study.
  • Strengthen the ability for local school districts to provide skill-based and project-based programs to support economic development in their communities and state.
  • Improve and expand business and industry connections to support local school improvement efforts to provide meaningful career development opportunities for students.
  • Provide an opportunity for participants to network for improved student learning in CTE, STEM, and the Arts.
  • Discover instructional strategies and assessment practices for CTE, STEM, and the related Arts programs.
  • Tools to advocate for improved CTE, STEM, and the Arts programs through expanded leadership, supervision, mentoring, and/or coaching.
  • Understanding of how CTE, STEM, and the Arts align with and support K-12 frameworks and curriculum alignment.
