Course Description

Death Investigations
This one-hour training session is designed to familiarize forensic pathologists, forensic pathology assistants, and coroners with the role of the Toxicology Section at the CFS in death investigations.  This session identifies:  

1. types of cases handled by the Toxicology Section
2. the case approach used in death investigations
3. types of evidence analyzed
4. limitations of the analyses
5. reporting practices employed by the Toxicology Section

By the end of this session, participants will demonstrate knowledge of how to best use the services offered by the Toxicology Section to aid in death investigations.
