School SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) offers an efficient, evidence-based, and comprehensive service to address selected behavioral health concerns among adolescents, including substance use, vaping, and mental health.
Key Project Details:1. Project Objective: The primary goal of the SBIRT Project is to integrate screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment practices into the school environment and equip schools with tools and resources to effectively address selected behavioral health concerns among adolescents.
2. Benefits of Participation: School districts selected to be part of the one-year cohort will receive comprehensive training, ongoing implementation support, and access to valuable resources. Additionally, each participating school district is eligible to receive a stipend of $2,000-$4,000 upon meeting the project requirements.
3. Project Requirements: Participating school districts are expected to actively engage in project activities including trainings and community of practice sessions, implementing SBIRT protocols, collecting and reporting data, and participating in project evaluation efforts.
4. Application & Deadline: Applications for the 2025-2026 SBIRT Project must be submitted by 4pm, Wednesday, September 24, 2025. School districts will be notified in early October. This application is an important step in the process of project participation as it will help your team evaluate readiness and commitment and thorough considerations of responses will prepare teams to successfully complete the project requirements.
