DRAFT PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE

DRAFT PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE
Our Draft Preferred Alternative and final conceptual design aims to seamlessly blend traditional bowl skating, organic flow, and simple street inspired elements in a modern beautiful and inviting package. Designing with general park visitors and skate park users equally in mind, the long winding perimeter paths allow people to travel through the space safely. The park features a covered kidney bowl with concrete coping and pool stairs. The flow section works around existing trees and has a huge variety of elevation changes, hips, pockets, transitions, and pump bumps all designed to give multiple users endless flow options. Separated from the flow section is an open linear path that spans over 200 feet. Lined with mature existing trees, this section will have natural shade and look beautiful. This area could be the perfect host for flat bars, curbs, manual pads, and simple skill-building quarter pipes. With a second, more linear rain shelter, we hope to provide users with partial coverage of key elements for year-round,  all-weather skating.  This design also includes generously sized gathering areas for picnics and barbeques.
