The Riverview Corridor Modern Streetcar project is a 12-mile planned transportation connection, that will run generally along State Highway 5 (West 7th Street), connecting neighborhoods, anchor destinations and employers in downtown St. Paul, MSP Airport and the Mall of America.

In 2017, the preferred route and type of transit was selected as modern streetcar operating from Union Depot in downtown St. Paul to Mall of America, connecting via West 7th Street and MSP Airport.

Since 2020, Ramsey County has made significant progress in refining the definition of the Riverview Modern Streetcar, including looking at alignments and station locations, developing estimates of cost, ridership, and economic impact, and coordinating with local, state, and tribal partners.

The County has also developed an arterial bus rapid transit (ABRT) alternative to the streetcar locally preferred alternative, which can be pursued if policy makers and the public decide not to proceed with a streetcar.

To help in making the decision on next steps, we are seeking feedback from the public on the project, including whether to proceed with a streetcar as well as the exact alignment and station locations. Please take this brief survey to share your ideas and thoughts.
