OHS will assist with rescue support and access to low/cost spay, neuter, vaccination and de-worming, tattoo or microchip for un-owned cats and dogs, through partner veterinary clinics.
Rescue Program for feral, abandoned and stray cats or dogs:
OHS will prioritize cases of feral, stray or abandoned animals based on urgency and availability of volunteers.
If you can assist with the rescue, this greatly increases the chances of saving these animals.
Please provide animals with food, water and shelter while waiting for assistance.
A volunteer will contact you by PHONE OR EMAIL within 24 -48 hours (check Junk mail)
Feral cats and kittens are fixed and assessed for adoptability. Feral adult cats are usually released back to the area they came from after recovery. Young kittens and tame adult cats will be fostered and re-homed, space and resources permitting.
OHS is 100% donation and volunteer based. To volunteer and /or donate visit https://okanaganhumanesociety.com/donate/
Donations are tax deductible and will be used for medical costs of rescued animals.
