Request for customer feedback

The SolTrans staff and board are requesting the public's feedback on the proposal for SolTrans to discontinue providing regional paratransit trips and transition regional paratransit trips to be provided by the Solano Transportation Authority (STA).  The Americans with Disabilities Act requires that SolTrans provide complementary ADA paratransit service within 3/4 mile of local bus routes during the same days and hours the local fixed routes are in operation.  The only direct connections between SolTrans’ local fixed route service is with Napa Vine. Paratransit trips that transfer with Napa Vine Go will remain the same. Trips to Fairfield will be transitioned to STA. SolTrans Regional Paratransit trips to Concord and Pinole will be discontinued, there is no legal requirement for SolTrans to provide service outside the core service area within Benicia and Vallejo.  ADA certified individuals that need transportation outside the SolTrans service area may be eligible for the STA Intercity Taxi Program. Staff is planning on transitioning regional paratransit service to STA in July 2019 pending board approval. While we need to transition the regional paratransit service to STA we welcome the public’s feedback on the transition process and timeline.
