Survey - Regional Forums on Minority Issues 2022

The regional forums are convened by the UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues. At the request of the Special Rapporteur, the Tom Lantos Institute has coordinated the organisation of the events in 2019, 2020, and 2021. In 2022, we plan to have four events, focusing on four regions: Americas, Africa and Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.

Next year is the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities (UNDM). The 2022 Regional Forums on Minority Issues will be devoted to this event. The primary purpose of this survey is to gather data on topics that minorities would like to address in connection with the 30th anniversary of the UNDM. A brief guide to the UNDM can be found here.

This survey is conducted by the Tom Lantos Institute.
