We are staff from the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC) who specialize in providing community outreach and educational opportunities to residents of all ages, especially students. To date, we have encouraged thousands of participants to make small lifestyle changes that assist in preserving the environment for future generations. At your convenience, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to educate your students about important environmental issues with a focus on recycling!

As a part of our outreach program, we visit schools to give free educational presentations to primarily 3rd through 6th grade students (although we have done all grade levels). Students will learn about the impacts of garbage and litter as well as the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling items to support a healthy environment. Here’s the fun part - students will also take part in a hands on activity such as Stash the Trash where they will learn how to properly dispose different items using bean bags and a cornhole board. Lessons even include free prizes for each student!

Please fill in the information below so we can schedule one of these engaging presentations with your class!
