1. Introduction

National Cotton Council of America (NCC) policy directs the NCC to 1) actively pursue the elimination of lint contamination from all sources and 2) to develop contamination reporting tools. Additionally, similar Packaging and Distribution resolutions direct producers, ginners, warehousers and others to help eliminate contamination by monitoring harvesting, packaging and handling systems. Active programs in those areas assure textile mills that bale cleanliness is maintained for their benefit.

Because our most reliable sources of information concerning lint contamination are our textile mill customers, the NCC of America, the National Council of Textile Organizations and Cotton Council International are asking cooperating mills to report cotton contamination incidents.

The use of multiple choice questions coupled with the limited use of written responses minimizes the need for detailed answers. Completing a report should take no more than five to ten minutes. Please choose a response that best describes a specific contamination incident for each question on the first two pages of the report.

ALL RESPONSES WILL BE TREATED CONFIDENTIALLY, AND NO INDIVIDUAL RESULTS WILL BE RELEASED FOR ANY REASON.

If you have questions about the survey, please email them to keepitclean@cotton.org.

Remember -- the information that you provide by completing an incident report is a critical component of the National Cotton Council of America's continuing efforts to produce lint, yarn and fabric that is contamination-free. Thank you for helping us "Keep it Clean."
