The Village of Radium Hot Springs is undertaking this survey to inventory wildlife safety and nuisance issues and to assess the level of public concern regarding animal human conflicts. While this survey is focused on the increasing urban turkey population, we have included mule deer and bighorn sheep questions. We welcome comments regarding cougar and black bear issues and any other animal species that may be causing problems.

The results of this survey will be used by Council to assist in the review of our existing Ungulate Safety Policy (visit our website at, so as to update the policy and to broaden its scope to include turkeys. To date, our animal safety program has focused on proactive approaches to mitigate black bear problems. This survey will help us quantify the issues in the community and help inform Council's decision making.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey and provide us with information to help guide future decisions.
