Question Title

* 5. This footprint has something for everyone. A healthy mix of transition, street features, and a stand-alone clover bowl allow multiple unique sessions, simultaneously.

In the Clover Bowl, modern blends and variety of heights and transitions will challenge the most advanced riders. Concrete coping on this bowl will be durable and long lasting, all while being an exciting tactile and auditory experience. The Bowl is surrounded by an Evergreen style snake run that lets you encircle the entire park quickly and without the need to push. Flow is central here. An integrated mini ramp also shares deck space with the bowl and is the perfect place to progress your transition skating. Towards S. Cloverdale St., there will be a linear street influenced section with pyramid hips, bank to ledges, flat bars, flat ledges,  an A-frame with rail and manual pad options and a "China Bank section" is all bolstered with small quarter pipes designed to keep you contained and invite technical tricks and beginner progression.

Overall, this design is more compact with 3 different gathering areas which include picnic benches and BBQs.  They are paved with an integral color concrete to differentiate them and they are intended to be skateable.  There are also a couple cut-though paths, between the large London plane trees, to provide a direct connection to the playground.  The bioretention planters are integrated into the design and frame the main entrance.  There are two art pieces, which may be skateable and also frame the main entrance (rainbow blue/green/yellow).  The mini bowl in the middle of the skate park is covered with an octagonal shaped structure and the street elements are covered as well.  This design will blend seamlessly between the skatepark and gathering areas.

Question Title

* 13. This elegant footprint integrates communal gathering space and skateable terrain seamlessly giving the park a lively and modern feel and pushes the idea of this space as the new "living room" for the larger park.

The design omits the traditional bowl and substitutes with a large Evergreen Lunar landscape. Rolls, transfers, volcanos and quarter pipes will have this end of the park flowing and functioning as its own independent area. Deckspace and communal space is shared making the skatepark feel even more expansive.

The long connection to S. Cloverdale St. gives the park a large overall footprint and plaza-like feel. Lots of open flat ground and simple skate features will be able to host multiple sessions, simultaneously. This area is designed to be covered with fun and progressive features that entertain and function independent of the rest of the park  through the rainy season.

This is also the more expansive (and expensive) alternative.  The connection to S. Cloverdale St. is one of the main differentiators and there are no short cut paths to the playground.  The gathering areas are more numerous and are defined by synthetic play grass, which provides a friendly, all-season cushion to help those spaces feel like the “living rooms”.  There is also a storage shed and repair area, in the middle.  Bioretention areas are integrated into this design and hopefully feel like fun to skate and sit around.  The covered area for this design is much larger and covers most of the beginner/street skate elements as well as a portion of the gathering area that is adjacent to ATS High School's field.
