FIT class descriptions

Members of Ridgeview Connect with Medica can participate in one free “FIT” wellness class series or training session through Ridgeview Rehab Specialties' FIT program class, or one free one-on-one training session with a Ridgeview Rehab Specialties Certified Athletic Trainer.

Classes are typically held on weekday evenings, once a week for six weeks, in Waconia. When selecting a class (below), please make note of the location (listed with the class start date).
Qigong
This class will emphasize posture, breathing techniques, and mental focus. Qigong creates an awareness of and influences dimensions of our being that are not part of traditional exercise programs. The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qigong reduce stress, build stamina and increase vitality. This beginner class is taught by a physical therapist, so it is appropriate for participants of all ability levels.
Pilates Mat Fundamentals
Learn basic Pilates fundamentals needed to properly perform Pilates mat exercises and benefit from the instructor's knowledge of muscle development, movement and injury prevention. These classes are geared toward strengthening the core body, which can prevent and/or relieve back and neck pain or headaches. The classes require precision and practice. Our instructors are Pilates trained and either certified athletic trainers or licensed physical therapists, so be assured they have the best training and knowledge to instruct the beginner.
One-on-One
Participants may select a one-on-one training session with a Ridgeview Rehab Specialties Certified Athletic Trainer. To schedule an appointment, call Abby at 952-556-2656 and note that you are a Ridgeview Connect with Medica member.

All classes except Pilates Continuation Class are appropriate for beginners; you do not need any experience. Questions about any of our classes? Contact Carol Thurston at carol.thurston@ridgeviewmedical.org, 952-442-7850 or Sandra Hanson at Sandra.hanson@ridgeviewmedical.org 952-556-2656.
