Kansas Science of Reading Professional Learning Course with LETRS

This initiative by KSDE provides LETRS training free of charge to PreK-3rd Grade teachers who provide direct instruction to students in KSDE accredited public and private schools in Kansas and college/university faculty who teach literacy courses in teacher preparation programs. Participants are asked to commit to completing the training full training even if they change districts or positions during their professional learning.

Eligible participants are college/university faculty who teach literacy courses in teacher preparation programs and teachers in public or accredited private schools who plan, design, and deliver instruction directly to students PreK-3rd grade – including these positions/programs such as:
  • General education teacher
  • Special education teacher
  • Early childhood special education teacher
  • Title teachers
  • ELL/ESOL teachers
  • At-Risk teachers
  • Reading Specialists/Interventionists
  • Instructional Coaches
  • Preschool-Aged At-Risk/Kansas Preschool Pilot
  • District funded or contracted preschool teachers
  • Head Start teachers

All live training days will be virtual using Zoom.
