2018 TXACP ANNUAL MEETING - CALL FOR RESIDENT ABSTRACTS

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT - October 6 (11:59 PM CT)
 
 
WHO CAN SUBMIT:
Each Residency Program is invited to submit the following abstracts:
  •  Clinical Vignette Abstracts (2 for competition, 2 for non-competition **note: non-competition will be presented electronically onsite)
  •  Clinical Research Abstract (1 for competition)
  •  Quality Improvement/Patient Safety Poster (1 for competition)
Resident Poster Presenters must be current TXACP members (Member # required)
Residents must be currently enrolled in an Internal Medicine Residency program in Texas.
 
GUIDELINES ON SUBMITTING:
• One abstract per presenter allowed to be submitted.
• The person who submits the abstract must present the abstract onsite (November 17 in Austin). If you cannot attend, you must forfeit your presentation.
• Abstract must contain: TITLE at the top of the document.
• Uploaded Abstract must be renamed: 'Presenter Last Name_Abstract Title_Category' 
• SINGLE SPACE document only.
• Max Word count of 450 words.
• References are optional.
• No images permitted in abstract submission.
• Any abstracts received after 11:59 pm CT on October 6 will automatically be rejected.
• Presenters must register for the Annual Meeting. $25 Registration Fee applies.

KEY DATES:
October 6 (11:59 pm CT) - Deadline for programs to Submit Abstracts

October 26 (11:59 pm CT) -Deadline for programs to submit poster pdfs of Abstracts being presented on November 17

November 2 - Abstract booklets with abstract and PDFs of Posters sent to onsite judges

November 17 - Resident Abstract Oral Vignette Competition and Poster Competition in Austin

 

AWARDS:
Clinical Oral Vignette: The First place winners of the Regional Oral Vignette competition will advance to the State Oral Vignette Competition to present during Plenary Session. The First place winner of the state competition will receive an honorarium to attend ACP's IM19.
Clinical Poster Vignette: First place (in TXN and TXS Regions) will advance to the National Poster Competition at ACP's IM19.
Research Poster Vignette: First and Second places to be awarded. Open to residents. The First Place poster (in TXS and TXN Regions) will advance to compete in the National Competition at IM2019.
Quality Improvement/Patient Safety Poster: First and Second places to be awarded. Open to residents. The First Place poster (in TXS and TXN Regions) will advance to compete in the National Competition at IM2019.
